Nick Alon is heading to the big leagues.
The 6-foot-11, 235-pounder from Arkansas has verbally committed to the Naval Academy, a source with direct knowledge of the situation told Polygon.
The Naval Academy is in the midst of a recruiting season that has seen more than 1,000 students from Arkansas sign up for classes and more than 150 recruits from other states commit to attend.
The Naval Academy was not immediately available for comment.
The 6-11 Alton, a 2016 recruiting class member, was rated the No. 13 overall prospect in the 2017 class and the No!
1 recruit nationally by 247Sports.
The Arkansas product is a senior from Edmond, Oklahoma.
Alfonso Cepeda is the No 2-ranked prospect in Arkansas’ 2017 class.
Alon and Cepadas brother, Tyler, were rated as the No 1 and No. 2 recruits nationally respectively.
Alon’s announcement came on the same day the Razorbacks announced that they have officially announced the hiring of new head coach Scott Frost.
Frost, a former Arkansas quarterback, spent the past two seasons as offensive coordinator for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
