Rutgers’ Louisville hoops recruiting class has added three key players

RUTGERS (AP) Three-star point guard Trey Tadds from the New York City suburb of Staten Island and five-star forward Tyree Mathers from Litchfield Park, Illinois, have been added to Rutgers’ 2019 recruiting class, according to Rivals.com.

The four-star Tadd has already announced his decision to commit to Rutgers, but the five-stars Mather and five players from the Illinois area have been in the works.

The five-sport player, who was rated the No. 13 recruit in the country by ESPN and No. 10 in the nation by Rivals, committed to Rutgers back in June and said he’d like to visit campus.

The 5-foot-9 Mather has a strong relationship with head coach Jim Tressel and is excited to be back at Rutgers, according the recruiting site.

Rutgers has already signed four five- stars to scholarships: senior guard Tyler Lydon (New Jersey), six-foot, 180-pound junior guard Deonte Thompson (Indiana), six (!)-foot forward Anthony Beavers (California), and junior guard Nick Martin (Ohio).
