Oklahoma Soonars quarterback Dak Prescott is the latest recruit to sign a scholarship offer to head coach Charlie Strong, the school announced Tuesday.
The Sooners have signed Prescott to a five-year, $32 million contract with an option for the first five years.
The commitment follows Prescott’s verbal commitment to Oklahoma earlier in the week.
The commitment came after Strong signed three-star linebacker Justin Coleman, a five.5-star cornerback in 2019, and five-star offensive tackle Brandon Tuffin, a four-star wide receiver in 2020.
Prescott is expected to sign his official letter of intent for the 2019 season on Wednesday.
The Soonars will likely use Prescott as their No. 2 quarterback for the 2018 season.
They’ll need him to provide the team with a potent receiving weapon with a knack for making big plays in the red zone.
Prescott was an offensive tackle at Texas Tech before transferring to Oklahoma in 2019.
He played three years at Tulsa, earning All-Big 12 honors in 2017.
