LEMON VALLEY, Australia — Ollie was so happy when his mother was in the picture.
“It was amazing.
I was just so happy.
It’s not something that I’ve seen before.”
But it was a moment he will never forget.
The Melbourne Rebels football player and his mother met at a wedding in New Zealand in October last year.
“We talked about our careers and the life we have here in Melbourne, and it was beautiful,” Ollis Mitchell told ABC News.
“She got me to think about what I want to do and it just got me thinking about my future.”
We just got married in November.
I’ve always been really into photography and my mum took my picture.
“Mitchell said he was so lucky to have such a beautiful wedding.”
It’s just such a big moment for me.
She was the most beautiful person I’ve met,” he said.
The NSW State Government has set aside more than $150,000 to help support the bride’s new life, with the money earmarked for scholarships, a job placement and a travel fund.”
I was so shocked that she had to move from the US to Australia to be married and be with him,” Olli said.”
Being in New York for two weeks and just getting to meet her, it was such a special experience.
“Ollis’ mother, Linda Mitchell, was married at the same ceremony in 2015.
Mitchell’s fiancee, Ollys brother, Will, and sister-in-law, Amy, also married in New Jersey.
